Every January as I look back at our year I can’t help but feel so incredibly blessed. We have had a wonderful 2013 and I can’t wait to see what 2014 is going to bring!

frannie’s graduation

A week ago last Friday I traveled up to Jacksonville to celebrate my sister-in-law; she has worked incredibly hard the last few years and earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy!! Yay, Frannie!! I made the trip without Jamie or the boys, which was nice and kind of odd all at the same time. It was nice to have a little time to myself but also a little odd to not have my little companions with me. I missed them while I was gone but received a wonderful welcome back when I returned home- Jay greeted me with an “it’s Mommy, it’s Mommy!” song and dance that is usually reserved for Daddy returning home from work and Charlie practically jumped out of Jamie’s arms to get to me when I walked in… it was nice. It was also nice to be able to celebrate with Frannie. I am very proud of her and all that she has accomplished and am excited for them as they tackle their next adventure in Pittsburgh. Frannie was accepted into a residency program that specializes in neurological physical therapy, so they will be moving in July after she writes her board exam. I don’t know much about this field, however, I do know that they only accept one person for this program each year and Frannie was the one that got it, which can tell you just how special my sister-in-law is. Way to go, girl we will miss you but wish you all the love and luck in the world!!!

auntie frannie

Auntie Frannie sure got to log a bunch of snuggle time with Charlie over the holidays.  Wish they lived closer so we could see her more but we are looking forward to her being in Orlando for her internship soon :)

christmas 2011 recap

The holidays this year were filled with many different things…  Time to relax and enjoy playing with the boys, time to start “new” traditions and to introduce the boys to old ones. Time to cherish with family that we don’t get to see very often and time to hang out with friends that live far away.  Honestly we got to spend a whole bunch of time appreciating what is really important and spending time surrounded by people that we love; to say that we are blessed would be an understatement.

more Canada- picnic in the mountains

The day after my Mom, brother and sister-in-law flew in everyone headed to the mountains (well not really the mountains but the foothills rather) for a picnic and wiener roast.  It was a beautiful day outside- perfect for jeans and t-shirts :-)  We were able to grab a great spot next to the river with a beautiful view.  Jay loved tossing rocks into the river, something he doesn’t have much of a chance to do in Florida, so we spent lots of time down by the river.  We were also able to take a short hike, roast marshmallows and we stopped for ice cream on the way home.   This has always been one of my favorite things to do whenever we visit, I just wish that we were closer and could do it more often…

even Grandma tossed a few rocks in too

LOVE is what I have for these photo booth pictures!  I am so happy we ended up doing the photo booth and after taking a look at these I am sure you can probably see why, they are so much fun :-)

By the way, this would be a great post to use the new “slideshow-ish” feature if you wanted- there is a crazy amount of pictures since I couldn’t narrow them down at all.  Just click on the first image below and take a look!

happy canadian thanksgiving!

Today is Canadian Thanksgiving. So this past Saturday (since we don’t get today off) we all drove out to Mom’s place and celebrated by filling our bellies, taking family pictures and singing Happy Birthday to the two October babies (the outlaws- Jamie and Frannie). It was great to see Scott and Frannie and nice to celebrate as a family; that and we get two turkey dinners a year- what could be better?

Enjoy the pictures, wish we were closer and able to celebrate with everyone up North…

people we miss…

Jamie, Jay and I are blessed to have so many family members living close by.  We are frequently able to celebrate occasions, show off Jay’s new tricks and just spend good quality time with the people that we love.  However, for as many people that live close by there are that many and more that don’t live near us.  We are so grateful for all of the time that we do get to spend with them but hope they know that it’s not as much as we would like to.

Here are just a few pictures from some of our recent (this is a relative term) visitors.  We miss you all, those pictured and those not, terribly and wish we could see you more often!!  Love you all…

Uncle Scott and Auntie Frannie- Sorry Scott, I don’t have a recent picture of you and Jay :-( We will have to rectify that when we see you all later this month!
