our weekend has been blissful…

Jamie and I went on a date, we’ve visited with Nicole (who’s in town from NC) with her boyfriend Jeremiah, went to the WP farmers market, put together Jamie’s new grill, played in the park after lunch, read in the hammock outside, played with Jay in the hammock after his nap, played in the dirt (Jay did), walked and played with the animals just to name a few things.  See I told you, blissful!

Enjoy the pics- I don’t have any from the farmers market since I forgot the memory card :-( I even made Jamie run back to the car to grab the (empty) camera- he carried a really nice shoulder accessory the whole time we were there.

warning: excessive amount of pictures below :-)

daddy?

I’ll admit that Jay and I were spoiled rotten for the last 5 days- we had Jamie (aka Daddy) home for 5 full days in a row!  We were able to spend the whole day with him on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday and although he worked from home on Friday and Monday we were still able to have lunch with him and to wave when we walked by his office.

It was pretty adorable on both Monday and Friday when Jay would hear Jamie answer the phone from the office, stop what he was doing, look around to see if he could see him, crawl like a mad man to find him, stop when he saw him and break into a huge smile and then crawl as fast as he could to get to him.  I’ll admit that it may have caused me to tear up just a little, if we are being honest.  It also caused me to tear up a little today when Jay crawled into every room looking for Jamie and couldn’t find him.  Frequently while he was playing Jay would stop, start crawling like a mad man to find Jamie and then stop disappointed when he didn’t find him in his chair, or in the office, or family room, or anywhere else he looked for him.  Pretty sure Dad will get a warm welcome when he comes home tonight, we’ve sure missed him today…

coming around the corner to find Daddy in the office today... so pitiful

happy canadian thanksgiving!

Today is Canadian Thanksgiving. So this past Saturday (since we don’t get today off) we all drove out to Mom’s place and celebrated by filling our bellies, taking family pictures and singing Happy Birthday to the two October babies (the outlaws- Jamie and Frannie). It was great to see Scott and Frannie and nice to celebrate as a family; that and we get two turkey dinners a year- what could be better?

Enjoy the pictures, wish we were closer and able to celebrate with everyone up North…

this one cracks me up- I can't remember what they are laughing at but that combined with Jay's face makes me laugh

special birthday wishes…

Two years ago I posted 28 fun facts/ things that I love about my dear husband and since I am not sure that I can come up with a another list of 30, I will spare you.  However, I would like to show you why I fall more and more in love with this man with each passing day…

I don’t think I could have asked for a better husband or a better father for Jay.  I love watching him teach, tickle, kiss, hug, show off, and love our little boy each and every day and am so blessed that I get to witness it all happen.  Jamie I know that Jay will “be (more than) alright if he’s anything like” you…

more from Terra Ceia

Time has honestly been getting away from me lately. Other than the usual maintenance of the house (laundry, vacuuming- so Jay isn’t consumed by animal fur, groceries etc) I am not sure where most of my time goes these days. It seems like I wake up, blink and it’s time for bed again. Which is probably why I can’t believe that Jay is 8 months old but that is a whole other post in itself. I guess all I am trying to do is make excuses for why these pictures weren’t posted sooner.  Oh well, I have been enjoying Jay and my family lately- and that’s all the excuse I need.  Enjoy, we certainly did!

look what I can do!

I am seriously in trouble now- Jay is crawling!!!!  Forget being able to set him in one place and know that he will stay there, forget thinking that we should baby proof the house- heck, we NEED to now; this kids on the move!!

For a few weeks now he has been army crawling (putting his arms out in front of him and dragging his behind afterward) around the house to get wherever and whatever he wants.  Jamie and I kept thinking that “real” crawling was right around the corner and we were right.  Over the weekend he decided to give up on the military and go for the full out crawl!  Both Jamie and I were home to witness this milestone making it that much more fun.  It has been so wonderful and amazing to watch this whole learning process- first learning to reach and roll, to sitting and flopping down on his belly, then the army crawl to finally full out crawling.  He still is primarily army crawling as of right now, it gets him where he wants to go much faster since coordination of arms and legs hasn’t quite been mastered yet, but I am sure it won’t be long until this is his preferred method of transportation.  And while I love watching him discover new tricks I am unsure of just what he will try to “discover” now given his new found freedom- all I know is that I am sure he will give me a run for my money!

Here’s a short clip of the real crawl- I only got a bit of it on video.  Jamie and I were too busy watching him the first few times to think of grabbing a camera and then when I did he didn’t really want to cooperate.  Oh well, enjoy what’s here and know that we are one very proud Mommy and Daddy…

lately…

Lately, I have been pretty bad at updating you all on our happenings; however, I have been pretty good at soaking up every ounce of cuteness that my little Jay bird is oozing right now.  I have been enjoying my time with him, our time as a family and the laughter that fills our house these days…

he's on the move (not full crawl yet) but still getting into "trouble"
although he has been making his fair share of messes he is happy to help clean up too
new favorite treat- an ice pop! those top teeth are really giving him trouble so the ice pop feels really great these days

relaxing…

Jamie and I decided to bite the bullet and head down to Terra Ceia for Jay’s first overnight trip this weekend.  I was nervous about making the trip and I am sure I packed way more than we actually need to have here but all I can say is that it has been bliss!  The ride down went far better than either one of us could have hoped and we have all loved getting away.  There are a ton of new things for Jay to check out including his first trip out on the dock and first time “fishing” with Pepere and Daddy .  Hope you all are enjoying your weekend as much as we are…

Warning: there are excessive amount of pictures to come.  It was, after all, Jay’s first trip to Terra Ceia which is huge and needed to be well documented (and this is only pictures from the first day)…

love, love, love this one!!

Got this shot Monday when Jamie got home from work.  Jay is always so excited to see Daddy walk through the door after being at work all day.  When he hears him come in he stops what he’s doing looks around to find him and breaks out in a huge smile as soon as he sees him.  I am not sure who is more excited to see who, it’s so precious…
