one full hand equals one full heart…

Five years ago today, I married the love of my life.  I will never forget that day.

I will never forget the way he looked at me as I was walking down the aisle to him…

I will never forget the way my heart leapt with JOY as we walked down the aisle as husband and wife…

I will never forget how our entire families were together, Aunts, Uncles, Grandparents- surrounding us with love and well wishes.

I will never forget the way we danced the night away with family and friends…

Life has changed so much in these last five years.  Since then, we have added a sweet baby boy to our family and will be adding one more soon…

We have leaned hard upon each other, have reinforced our strong foundation and have found new ways to love each other…

We have realized what is most important and have invested in it like crazy!

There was so much joy, so many blessings and so much LOVE on that day that I cannot and will not forget.

So here’s to that day, the five in between and the many, many more to come…

Happy Anniversary Jamie, I love you!

brothers…

Come November I will be out numbered 3 to 1; I will be surrounded by boys and loving every minute of it!!  Last Wednesday, Jamie and I ventured into the OB’s office curious to see what November would bring.  We left knowing that our house would be filled with more blue, more cars and a new baby brother!!  Yes indeedy- we are having another BOY!!

We shared the news with our families on Thursday with a pink or blue party- having everyone come either dressed in pink or blue depending on their predictions.  The girl group far out numbered the boy group but regardless of their predictions no one left disappointed- a happy (he bounced all over my tummy during the ultrasound and continues to do so) and healthy little boy will be added to the family. How blessed are we?

the pink group- Grandpa and Uncle Mark both have pink tags on their shirts ;)
the blue group- and yes both Jamie and I really thought that it was going to be a boy, Jay was blue by default (the kid doesn't own any pink)
My adorable sisters-in-law (and future brother-in-law) were so cute and sent their photos in ahead of time so they could be included too! You can see people holding their "puppets" in the above group photos :)
It's a boy dessert to follow the pizza- homemade ice cream sandwiches with Blue Sprinkles

And because I think this little one is already pretty adorable- here HE is (sorry for the poor quality iPhone photo)!!

one year ago yesterday…

We stood in Saint Margaret Mary Church in Winter Park surrounded by family and a few dear friends watching as our little Jay Bird was baptized.  It was a wonderful day (I can still smell the oil that they used on Jay if I stop to think about it) and I am so thankful that we had so many people there to share it with…

These are a few of the photos from the day that I never got around to actually sharing.  My favorites are still by far the few that I snapped as we were getting Jay dressed and the few that Jamie and I got after everyone had left after the open house…

probably my favorite from the day- he looks like such a little angel in this one to me, I also love proud Daddy's face looking on

one with his God parents (Nan Knight and Chuck Perreault) and us
everyone who celebrated with us- yes that is all family aside from Nan
The baptismal gown by itself since we didn't get a really good shot inside the church of the whole gown. This gown was worn by Jamie's grandmother (Memere) and almost every Perreault child and grandchild. It was so very special to us that Jay got to wear it too.

We are so blessed…

20 weeks…

Last Saturday I was 20 weeks pregnant- we are half way already!!  This indeed is SO hard to believe  since it feels like we just told everyone our wonderful news.  This pregnancy has been so different from Jay’s, not in how I am feeling or the growth (although my belly seemed to have made a much earlier appearance than it did with Jay) but in the fact that I frequently forget that I am pregnant at all!!  I know that this may seem nuts but frequently I reach for something on the ground and realize that it’s not as easy to bend as it used to be- huh? curious… Or I am talking to Jamie at the end of the day and just can’t for the life of me figure out why I am so tired- maybe the whole growing a baby thing might have something to do with that… or when I am on the ground with Jay it baffles me when it takes more than the usual time to hoist myself from the ground.  It’s funny how life changes and how different things can be from year to year. I love watching our family grow and I can’t wait to see what the next few months and years have in store for us…

Oh yeah- my favorite “surprise you’re actually pregnant” moment is definitely when I am not thinking about it and I am sitting or standing still for a minute and I feel the baby flip or kick.  It’s those “hey Momma, remember me” pokes I love the most :)

Here’s a photo of the belly, since we actually remembered to take it last weekend, growing as much as ever.  And yes, I know that it’s not a great photo.  In fact, it almost looks mugshot-ish but I really wanted to wear the same outfit for all of the bump photos this time around and for some reason I picked a black shirt so we are kind of committed now…

p.s. We also had our 20 week ultrasound today and this little one decided to not be camera shy ;)!  We’ll be back soon with some pink or blue news after we share with the family :)

more sand and surf

Here are a few photos from our fourth of July weekend Beach trip.  Jamie, Jay and I visited my Mom while she was staying in Jensen beach for the week.  Jay loved the playing in the sand just as much as our last trip and he got a big kick out of the larger waves and the bubbles that they produced.  It was a very nice trip and every bit as relaxing as the time before- thanks Mom for having us.

udderly fantastic day…

Yesterday Staci and her herd came by the house, yes in the middle of the torrential down pour, to make cow costumes with us. Why you ask?  So we could all head to chick-fil-a today for Cow Appreciation Day and get free meals.  No, there is not a limit to what stay-at-home Momma’s on a budget will do for entertainment and free food.  Free meals were received, moo-ing noises were made and good times were had!  Honestly it was udderly fantastic and so worth it :)

Here’s some photos of our group.  It took a lot of coordinating to get 7 kids and 3 adults (Mandy, a friend of ours, and her three kiddos joined us too) dressed and fed but it was worth it and I think that the kids had a good time.  Heck, who am I kidding I had a good time…

moo-ve over here comes one cute cow!
"Not too sure about this Mom..." Honestly though, he did great and didn't even rip off his spots or udders until after lunch- yea Jay!! He even loved the big dressed up cow and mooed everytime he saw it :)

eh?

Did you think I could let it pass without mention of Canada day??  Seriously folks- I was born and raised there!  Here’s hoping that my Canadian family is enjoying the day; I hate that I am missing out on popcorn and fireworks from the brow of the hill…

And since I haven’t taken or uploaded any photos of us in our Canada gear today I will leave you with a few from last year- it’s amazing how much can change in a year isn’t it??

splashin’ in the waves

When we were at the beach we spent a good portion of the time splashing in the relaxing waves, floating on Maggie’s endless supply of floats or playing Frisbee.  All of which I caught on camera- again, yahoo for the water camera!!

love this one of Nicole!

a family shot!

this may not look like that great of a photo BUT there is a dolphin fin in the top left corner (yes, it is really small and hard to see but it's there)!!! That's what everyone was looking at...

Jay loved the Frisbee games.  He watched the first couple of games and then later on in the week he joined in with a little help from Jamie.  I wish you all could have seen his face and heard the squeals; he was having a grand time playing with everyone!

Jay's first toss
so excited to be included

Jay would get so sleepy after being out in the ocean for a while; with the rolling waves can you really blame him?  His eyes would start to get heavy and then he would rest his head on the shoulder of whomever was holding him.  One morning, mid-Frisbee game, he couldn’t resist actually falling asleep and crashed on Jamie for about 40 minutes.

getting sleepy
passed out
really, really passed out cold!

A few photos from after his nap; he woke up rather refreshed…

wearing Pepere's hat

Last but not least photos by Jay… the water camera is the only one that we really let Jay “play” with- it’s a whole lot more indestructible and far less expensive.  That being said here are a few of his masterpieces- I think we might have a budding photographer on our hands!

pool time at blue waters

Aside from lounging on the beach I am pretty sure that we spent the majority of our time hanging pool side while at Blue Waters. I think that by the end of the summer Jay might actually grow gills- seriously this little guys loves to swim! He hasn’t finished his swim lessons yet (we actually have quite a few more weeks left) but he can kick his little feet with the best of them.  Luckily Jamie thought to bring his underwater housing for our point and shoot camera so I was able to have a camera with me at all times- yea! Here are a handful of the photos that I got of people enjoying the pool.

our little fish- love how he you can see his smile in this one!

the steps of the pool were great for Jay; they had a big handrail and were really wide. He loved climbing in and out of the pool while we were swimming.

our fish swimming to the steps- and yes he actually would swim 2 or 3 feet on his own to the steps!

Jay really loved to hang out in the showers at Blue Waters, especially after he figured out how to use the foot sprayer all on his own.

love this one!

the first of the beach photos

Last Sunday (father’s day) Jamie, Jay and I headed down to Blue Waters Beach Club, a beachfront motel on Anna Maria Island, to spend the week with his family.  A week at the beach was a long standing tradition with the Vickers Clan who sat sea side year after year and while they took a break for a few years (10 to be exact) it was such a nice tradition to resume.  Everyone had a wonderful time, enjoying lazy mornings on the beach and in the waves, early afternoons in the shade, dips in the pool before supper, plenty of family meals, amazing sunsets and great conversations long into the night.

We have so many photos from our trip (surprise, surprise) I am not really sure where to even start!  So in an effort to not overwhelm anyone I think I will probably break it out into a few post- you’re welcome, I know you were thinking it ;)

Here you go with the first batch…
