crazy normal

My immediate response when people ask lately how we are/ how I am is “Crazy, good but crazy”. However, the more I think about this the more I realize we are less and less crazy and more and more normal.  You see, before we had any kiddos we had plenty of time to do whatever we wanted whenever we wanted and honestly I am not all that sure what we did with our boat loads of free time.  After we had Jay we thought we were seriously crazy and had no free time and then we had Charlie (bringing the parent child ratio up to one-to-one) and actually had less free time.  If you would have asked me about our free time when we just had Jay I would have found it rather laughable; now I am not sure what we did with it all.  Perspective is funny that way…  All this to say that we are crazy or normal; however you want to think of it and here is a taste of our crazy brought to you by the ever present iPhone.

I apparently haven’t dumped my phone photos in forever so instead of overloading you all in one day I will post the rest tomorrow- stay tuned for part two ;)

sghetti head

I have been sitting here for probably over an hour and every time I have started to write, my brain turns to mush and I end up erasing all that I have written and starting over.  So while I intended on posting some of the most recent happenings I am not going to fight it anymore.  I am going to resign to the supremo case of sghetti head (don’t know what that is? ask my hubby) and call it a night.  I will try again tomorrow if I am feeling a little less mushy…

However, since I am physically unable to post without a photo here is one of the four of us in all of our duplo surrounded, crazy hair, not looking self portrait glory.

Night all…

fishing

Over the years we have had many, many visitors to Florida and while we love to do the traditional things with them while they are in town it’s always fun to do something a little out of the ordinary and I am pretty sure Terra Ceia qualifies as out of the ordinary. So while my cousins were in town we packed up and headed down to treat them to a little tractor riding, castnetting, dock sitting and fresh caught fried fish. We enjoyed it and we hope they did too!

This was also Charlie’s first trip down to Terra Ceia; it’s sad to think that we don’t get down there as often as we would like to. There are only showers at Terra Ceia so we had to imporvise with a few sink baths.

Nighttime fishing and a few first catches- it was catfish but at least it was something ;)

future photographer- it must run in the family ;)

Jay loved seeing anything Jamie brought up in the net. He also wanted to touch everything! Don’t worry we washed his hands after this.

Like I said, it was Charlie’s first trip down to Terra Ceia and he loved venturing around the property and checking things out but I think he enjoyed playing under the bar chairs the most.

summer fun

We had some good friends over the other day to splash around in the front yard.  I searched for our sprinkler in the morning before they came over without success and realized when they were here that the kiddie pool needed a good scrub and the top ring wouldn’t stay blown up; however, none of these things mattered to the littles.  I can’t count the number of times they took running jumps into the pool (top ring deflated and all) and I am pretty sure that they enjoyed using the hose way more than they would have enjoyed the sprinkler.  It was a great morning with wonderful company and I hope we can do it again soon!

Eli’s faces are so funny; I think I did something wrong here in his opinion!

this splash got my camera pretty good… and not the waterproof camera either

sick

We’ve been sick… a nice mess of low-grade fevers, congestions, dry coughs, sore throats and cranky-pants-toddlers for the last week or so.  So we’ve been resting up trying to kick this funk, trying to tackle some projects around the house when we get a free minute as well as enjoying some time at the beach with my extended family (more photos to come soon).  It’s not exactly what I envisioned for Jamie’s time off but we made the most of it and are very close to being back to 100%- YAY!!

Here are a few random photos to enjoy until I can get my act together enough to post more.

Charlie’s face in this one cracks me up…

Even when he is sick and tired he is still such a happy baby!

And lastly, a few of Jay’s camp lunches (and yes I do know that I am a dork)

seaworld

A few weekends ago Jamie and I took Jay to Seaworld for the day.  We had been putting off a trip to one of the theme parks for quite some time since Jay is really still on the young side (people who go with itty itty babies to parks are crazy with a capital C!!) but decided to take the plunge and get Sea World passes.  We packed a bag with a lunch the night before so we would be ready to go first thing in the morning and honestly, I am not sure who was more excited about our trip- me or Jamie, Jay had no idea what was in store for him.  We left Charlie with Mimi- it was way too hot for him to be out all day- and had Jay all to ourselves for the day!  It was very hot out and we all were melted and tired when we got home but we had so much fun.   Jay loved getting to see the dolphins in the underwater viewing area (I had to pull Jamie away so we could go see other animals), he liked the beluga whales and splashing in the sting ray tank among other things and Jamie and I enjoyed watching Jay take it all in (we liked the animals too).

I didn’t take a ton of photos since I was so busy soaking it all up but I do really like the few that I got…

enjoying the underwater dolphin viewing area-

watching the Shamu Show-

Jay kept doing hand motions along with the jumping Shamu

splashing in the stingray lagoon-

I know that this is out of focus but it is the only one that I have where you can see him actually touching the rays- he loved it!

oh and I promise that I was actually there- I just didn’t ever get in any of the photos!
