watch your step

Warning- there is a new roaming speed bump in the Perreault household, proceed with caution!!

So frequently these days, I find myself in the kitchen with a kiddo under foot. I am not exactly sure what he finds so interesting with the floor in there but this little one loves to camp out on it. Often, I look over or down to find him lying down on it or studding it with great focus… Maybe it’s that sweaty-hands-and-feet finds it is cool (temperature wise) or maybe I need to do a better job cleaning it, I can’t be too sure. All I know is that the view from above is pretty sweet :)

chores

We start them early around here… they have to earn their keep somehow don’t they??

And for those of you wondering, no, I can’t tell you when he grew up SO much.  Seems like I blinked and it happened :(

not as planned

For about the last month or so the plan was to hardcore potty train when we got back from the beach.  Jamie was going to be home so we figured we could keep a pretty good eye on him and really make it work.  So after 5 straight accidents in his super cool big boy underwear and having to flick a turd into the toilet 30 seconds after going to the potty I threw in the towel.  Pretty sure that potty training while you are sick is the worst idea ever… Oh well, there is always next time ;)

Oh and he LOVED wearing his big boy underwear, he just didn’t think anything of having to change them like a diaper…

And yes he will probably kill me for posting these later on, but what’s a Mom to do?

sick

We’ve been sick… a nice mess of low-grade fevers, congestions, dry coughs, sore throats and cranky-pants-toddlers for the last week or so.  So we’ve been resting up trying to kick this funk, trying to tackle some projects around the house when we get a free minute as well as enjoying some time at the beach with my extended family (more photos to come soon).  It’s not exactly what I envisioned for Jamie’s time off but we made the most of it and are very close to being back to 100%- YAY!!

Here are a few random photos to enjoy until I can get my act together enough to post more.

Charlie’s face in this one cracks me up…

Even when he is sick and tired he is still such a happy baby!

insanity

Jamie and I just recently started a new workout regimen called Insanity.  We had been wanting to start something up again and although we enjoyed P90X when we did it a year and a half ago we just don’t have 1.5 hours each night to commit to it anymore so we choose to give Insanity a whirl.  We’ll see where it takes us and if I remember I will let you know that I think of insanity (after completing it), although right now I would say that it’s hard as heck but I am enjoying it.  One aspect of the beach body programs that I really enjoy is the way they encourage you to track your progress and while I am sure as heck not going to post “before” photos of myself up here I will show you a few of Jay.  He was up while we were taking our photos and wanted in on the action.  These photos make me crack up every time I see them, kiddo’s got some serious muscle action going on ;)

Jamie let him “take” the photos of us (I was using the big camera and Jay had Jamie’s phone), he was so tickled that he got to use the camera to take photos.

baby got back! ;)

recovering

Unfortunately, I was wrong when I said that Charlie was teething… (well not completely wrong- the little guy is still working on his chompers) however, that wasn’t the reason for last weeks grumpy baby- a virus was.  BOO!

Both boys have been sick now for almost a week with hand foot and mouth disease :(  Just the name of it makes me wrinkle my nose up… It’s not fun- little guys with temperatures and tiny red bumps galore, not fun at all.  We do however seem to be on the mend now- we’ve been temperature free now since Sunday (yay!!!), appetites are starting go back up a bit, the bumps are looking better and they are (knock on wood) sleeping through the night again (double yay!!!)  Keep your fingers crossed for us that this is the end of it, having sick babies is not fun at all.  And maybe, just maybe I will be able to get some of our recent photos up now that they are sleeping a little better- we have so much to share.

While we’ve been hanging a little closer to the house we have needed to be a little creative with our play and laundry baskets are always a good way to do that.

Happy hump day to ya!
