4 months old

This little guy is a whopping four months old today!!  He is as sweet as ever and growing super fast- he rolled over today all by himself!  However, the monthly update will have to wait for another day; it was a late evening and an early morning followed by a long day.  So even though I was able to relax on the blanket with Charlie for a little bit and recharge today I am hitting the sack early.  Until I can open my eyelids long enough to put together more than a few sentences, enjoy a sweet Charlie smile :)

survival

It’s a tad chilly for playing outside in the water table (74- which isn’t horrible but not exactly warm either) but you gotta do what you gotta do… So aside from Jay being a little on the purple side and just shy of Popsicle temperature I can see nothing wrong with blowing off some steam playing with bubbles… He’s having fun, I promise that we will go in and “warm” up soon and it will increase the likelihood of us of both being here AND sane when Daddy gets home from work…

typical

I love this view… three of my loves hanging out and content to just be with each other.  Simple joys, a big brother to shake a rattle for the little brother and a puppy dog who aches to be near anyone that will have her. This is a pretty frequent occurrence around here… the four of us within a four foot radius and it is so, so great.  Oh and incase you are concerned Charlie looked like this about 30 seconds before this photo was taken- content as content can be :)

However, he had some “tough” lovin’ from his ubber affectionate brother (we are still working on hugging not squishing) and wasn’t feeling the group shot. That and he was getting tired of tummy time :)

love

Last weekend while Jay was napping Jamie, Charlie and I were hanging out in the kitchen.  Charlie was having fun with his newly discovered tongue and I am so glad that the camera was close by and Jamie was able to grab these photos… I love them, they make my heart smile- enjoy!

simply done cuisine

My crazy talented brother-in-law just launched his cooking blog, Simply Done Cuisine.  To say that he is talented would be an understatement- seriously the boy can COOK!!!!  He is posting some super delicious recipes along with fun videos on how to make everything- really you NEED to check it out.  Each episode allows you to cook two meals out of one set of ingredients; so after cooking you end up with one meal for tonight and one for tomorrow.  Yup, you read that correctly- one for today and one for tomorrow!!  I know that my crazy busy Mom friends are singing his praises right now.  Seriously, less time spent in the kitchen these days is so worth it because I honestly have so many better things to do- playing cars and Charlie snuggles trump most things!

So this is he, Jeremiah, with my sister-in-law (Jamie’s sister)- yes they are fantastically adorable together.

And here’s some food photos to get your tummy growling.  This dish was so delicious that Jamie and I had it twice in one week- once at the filming and then again when we made it ;)  Actually we ate the pasta 3 times since we had enough leftovers for two meals- bonus!!

All this to say check it out, you won’t be sorry!

happy friday

I don’t have my photos together for my Friday phone dump…

AND I am hoping to get to bed before 2am, since that bedtime has been more common these days I care to admit… I have in some moment of insanity decided to repaint a good portion of our house.  I know, nesting should take place before the baby is born, not after.  Oh well, progress is being made and I LOVE the results!!  I promise to post photos of it at some point; however, I do not promise that they will be posted soon ;)

All that to say, sorry I haven’t been around much this week.  Here’s a few photos of my bird to tide you over for a few days.  Honestly, this kiddo had been keeping me on my toes these days- in both good and bad ways.  He is full of life, full of trouble and such a pure joy to be around.  I found myself staring at him in wonder a few times today- man, oh man am I one lucky ducky!!

The view I found when I rounded the corner into the kitchen after changing Charlie’s diaper.  When he finally noticed me he looked at me and said “hey Mommy, what you doing?”  I think the better question is what are you doing my friend :)

my goofball posing for the camera
and one from later in the day of an age-appropriate child using it too

TGIF!!
