Another great thing about this age is that he is old enough to play but not old enough to protest too much! Which is why Daddy and Mommy can get away with doing things like this…

Recently, Jay has really been playing a whole lot. I can put him on a blanket in the middle of the floor and place some toys around him and he will play for as long as I let him. It’s great- I love watching his little brain work while he is playing; he really does take everything in and love to play! Also, this “new” trick allows for me to get a some stuff done while he plays (laundry etc) so it’s a win-win situation for all!
If I had to choose I would say his current favorite toy is anything that stacks; I make towers and he knocks them down, over and over again. We certainly all have our jobs in this household :-) The first few pictures are of Jay’s stacking cups; a very inexpensive toy that I would highly recommend to any parent. Although, I think he would probably like plain old tupperware just as much. The others are of a boat that he really likes to play with too- enjoy!

I can’t help but feeling so thankful today as all of my teacher friends head back to work (some with children, some without) that I don’t have to pack up the sweet face below, drop him off somewhere and leave him for the day. I can’t help but feel so blessed that I am able to stay home every day and do silly things like put t-shirts on Jay’s head and take pictures of his smiling face. Thank you Jamie, for all the sacrifices you make that allow me to stay home; both Jay and I are so grateful…

Since I’d say our grass is pretty darn green :-) I love, love, love afternoons like we had today!! Jamie, Jay and I took a stroll on Park Ave and ended up letting Jay stretch his legs in the grass before heading home. Jay loved it! There were so many new things to look at, feel and explore- it’s a good thing that I tote my camera everywhere with me these days; I would have hated to miss getting this.
Hope your Saturday afternoon was as wonderful as ours…

On Sunday Jamie, Jay and I had the pleasure of visiting Lauren, John and Betsy (their Toy Yorkie- I think that’s the correct term, sorry Lauren if it’s not). They had us over to their place, nice new digs by the way, where we had a wonderful dinner and were able to enjoy some time catching up. A great time was had by all, even Jay and Betsy had a great time “playing” with each other. Betsy is so tiny and much smaller and more energetic than any animal Jay has ever met; she was bounding around playing with toys and us the whole time we were there and Jay couldn’t keep his eyes off of her! Those two were seriously too funny to watch…

Ok, things around here can get a little routine. So being the creative Mom that I am (ha!) I try to change it up as much as I can. Jay currently loves the water- bath, pool and sink… the other day after washing my hands I plopped him in the sink and just let him play. He had a blast letting the water run on his feet and giggling at himself in the mirror and all we were down at the end of the experience was one used to be dry diaper- not too shabby if you ask me…

By the way, for those of you concerned for his safety I was always within reach and wasn’t going to let him “eat” the faucet. You can even see one of my hands in the picture above.
Do they get cuter than this?? I mean seriously- that smile, those thighs, the laugh (sorry you can’t hear it)!?!? I am loving every minute with this kiddo…

I couldn’t wait to post these pictures- aren’t they too sweet? I was cleaning up after Dolce this morning (yuck) and left Jay on the carpet about a foot away from Piper and two feet away from me so I could use both hands and when I turned around he had scooted his way over to play with her. Jay loves all of the animals in our house and looks for them frequently; especially in the places where he knows that they should be- Piper on her mats or in front of a sliding glass window or the kitties in their basket. We have been really blessed that all of the animals are really good with him; they stop long enough for a sniff or a lick and then go about their way. This morning Piper was especially sweet with Jay, letting him play with her nose and not budging so he could scoot close enough to touch her.

Daily, I am reminded of how lucky I am to have Jamie in my life and how wonderful a father he is to Jay. Here are a few sweet moments that I haven’t been able to post yet- I love my boys so much!!

I have a ton of pictures to post (I have taken so many lately and am trying to play catch up after battling off my cold) but Jamie and I need to head to bed early tonight. We have stayed up way too late the past few nights and it is catching up with us, so I am going to make this short and sweet… this is a picture of Jay’s first shoulder ride. He loved being up on Pepere’s shoulders and I don’t think that Pepere is missing too many hairs from the experience- Jay has really got a grip on him now!
Enjoy, there will be more to come!
