I am a baby wearer

I am a baby wearer… it’s true and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Both Jamie and I purchased carriers before Jay was born in the anticipation of wearing him frequently.  We had heard that it increases the bond between parent and child; plus as an added bonus it is a way to have your hands free and actually get things done.  I never thought that I would have taken to it so much, I love having Jay so close to me.  Just the other day I asked Jamie if we could head out for a walk just so I could wear him- we had visitors over the day before who were more than willing to get in some cuddle time which means that I was feeling deprived.

These are some self portraits that we took the other day- it is how we amuse ourselves while Daddy is at work :-)

farmers market

Last Saturday Jamie, Jay and I took an early morning trip to the Winter Park Farmers market.  Jay is usually in a really good mood first thing in the morning after being fed and changed so Jamie and I thought that it would be a great idea to go; we would be able to get out and get some much needed fresh air.  Jay was a perfect little angle the whole time that we were there.  He was awake for a the first little bit when we got there but then promptly crashed and didn’t wake up until much later.  I carried him the whole time in my baby carrier (which I LOVE by the way) and he was snug as a bug in a rug!

Here are a few of my favorite pictures from the outing…

By the way, I LOVE this wall for photographs!!  I have taken a few clients to Park Ave to photograph and I always love how it turns out- I am a texture junkie!  If you want to see some of the pictures you can check them out here.

I never thought…

I never thought that the day would come when I would hope and cheer for poo; I mean seriously jump for joy when my child loads his diaper.  Well that day has come and gone and I am sure that it will happen again soon…

Last week Jay was having some difficulties with the “outputting” section of the input/output part of his life.  I am talking serious output issues, like going four days without pooping.  Bless his heart, I am sure that his tummy was hurting something fierce and, well, I was beginning to really worry- like calling the Pediatrician on Monday, worry.  Needless to say late Saturday night the issue resolved itself.  After going through his bed time routine (bath, feeding, swaddle) we laid him down to go to sleep, crawled in bed ourselves and had barely closed our eyes when the child exploded- literally. He made a lake in his diaper, one that we changed over the sink for fear of major leakage.  We were so proud and excited- this is parenthood at its finest.

Thinking back on it now it is quite humorous since Jamie and I jumped out of bed, praised the heck out of him and did a little happy dance all the way to his room to change him.  It just goes to show how much a child can change you…

On a side note, sorry for the lack of pictures with the post; our photo exporter is acting up.  Never fear though Jamie is home tomorrow and my computer fears him so it will be resolved soon :-)

growing before our eyes

Seriously it is hard to believe that Jay is already over a month old and that he was 5 weeks yesterday, I can’t believe that he is getting so big already!  I would love for him to stay my little cuddle bug forever but I do love that we are starting to see bits and pieces of his personality.

A month (plus) in review…

insert sad face here :-(

Jamie went back to work yesterday…

We have been so blessed to have him be able to stay home with us for so long so I am not complaining, except really I am- having him go back to work was tough!  I think I started missing him on Saturday or Sunday when I realized that he was going to have to go back the following week, so you can imagine what Tuesday morning was like.  He still has Monday and Fridays off this month, which is making this transition easier but if you know of a job in which either of us can make a ton of money hanging out and enjoying our time as a family please, please be sure to let me know!

These are just a few of my favorite pictures of Jay and Jamie from the last little bit…

outakes

Yesterday I told you how special Jay was being throughout the day especially when we were trying to get his “birthday” pictures.  Today I thought that I would show you just how special he was being, can you guess how many we took to get a few adorable ones?

one month already?!?!?!

It is incredibly hard to believe that already a whole month has gone by since this wonderful little creature came into our lives but at the same time it is hard to think of a time without him in it…

On Saturday Jamie and I celebrated Jay’s 1 month birthday, and by celebrated I mean catered to his every need :-)  Saturday was an especially rough day; Jay hasn’t been able to calm himself down very well lately and has made us work to get him settled and into his “happy boy” state- Saturday was no exception to this rule… Actually I think that he decided to be extra difficult because he knew Mommy wanted to get some special pictures of him (we even made a trip to publix for the cupcakes).  Either way we got some really cute ones so enjoy!
